MAL 0036

Deep in the Inner Sanctum of the Turtle Tomb under Pulau Sipidan, Borneo, Malaysia, there lie hundreds of turtle skeletons. This one, set apart from the rest, was found on a large shelf off the main chamber. Four strobes were used to light this photo, including two remotes (Ikelite 100a's with Ikelite Remote TTL Slave units), one visible towards the left rear, and the other off camera to the rear right. The two on-camera strobes were aimed at the ceiling to bounce the light over a broad area.

Many thanks to Mark Webb, local Cave Instructor, and his graduate student Sheli from Hong Kong, who enabled me to get this deep into a cave and return with a photo. Without them I am sure I would have wound up as the turtles...

NikonosV, Sea & Sea 15mm lens, dual Ikelite SS200 strobes, on Fuji Sensia 400 film.
