SAB 0051

An unidentified prawn/goby pair found on the dive site known as Babylon on Saba, NA. While this type of prawn/goby pairing is common in the Indo-Pacific, it is rare to find it in the Caribbean. The near-blind shrimp builds and keeps the nest shoveled out, while the goby stands guard and watches for any signs of trouble. Thsi photograph took me almmost one-half hour because the goby was so wary of my presence.

Minolta Maxxum 800si, Ikelite housing, Tamron 90mm telemacro lens, Tamron 2x teleconverter, dual Ikelite 100a strobes, Fuji Velvia film.
